Mount Mary Drops Three-Set Match to Trinity Christian
Palos Heights, Ill. --- The Blue Angels of Mount Mary University hit the road on Thursday night. They travelled down to compete against the Trolls of Trinity Christian College. The Trolls took all three sets winning the conference matchup.

- Gabby Saucedo Salas (Flagstaff, Ariz.) led the way with 12 kills.
- Ava Fincher (Owensboro, Ky.) picked up 16 assists.
- Abigail Manthey (Mukwonago, Wis.) led with 10 digs.
What Happened:
Andriana White (Erin, Tenn.) got the Blue Angels on the board first, scoring a powerful kill from Fincher. Saucedo Salas added in her first kill along with a Manthey service ace, which gave the Blue Angels the lead, 4-2. The Trolls bounced back and took back the lead and then continued to capitalize on MMU errors, 7-5. Fincher secured a kill before the Trolls took on a forceful run, 15-8. The Blue Angels could not stop the Trolls from another four-point demanding run, 21-12. The Blue Angels took a timeout but were unable to fight back, and the Trolls won the set 25-14.
Just like set one, White scored the first kill of set two. Continuous back-and-forth action played out until the Trolls scored four in a row, 8-4. Saucedo Salas was able to connect and bring the Blue Angels' momentum, 8-6. The Trolls scored three points to extend their lead, 11-6. The Blue Angels and Trolls continued trading off kills, 15-9. The Blue Angels scored three points from errors and a huge Saucedo Salas kill, 16-12. Fincher added a service ace to bring MMU within three points, 19-16. The Blue Angels took a timeout down by five, 22-17, but could not stop the Trolls from scoring three more. The Trolls won set two, 25-17.
Lilly Severson (Cottage Grove, Wis.) secured the first kill of set three. Two kills from Saucedo Salas brought the score to 7-5. The Trolls took control until White stopped their streak, 12-7. The Trolls scored three more, which forced a MMU timeout, 15-7. The Blue Angels were able to string together a few points from kills by Fincher and Saucedo Salas, 19-11. The Trolls momentum could not be stopped as they finished the set 25-12. The Trolls won the matchup 3-0.
The Blue Angels will be back in the Bloechl Center for their final home game of the season on Tuesday, October 28th.
