Tough First Inning Costs Blue Angels against Calumet
Glendale, WI- On a brisk Friday afternoon, the Mount Mary University softball team took on the Crimson Wave of Calumet College in the first game of a three game weekend series.
The Crimson Wave started fast in the first inning. Calumet plated seven 1st inning runs to take the early lead.
CCSJ would add a single run in the top of the 3rd inning. A 4 run rally in the top of the 5th would extend the lead to 12-0 which would be the game's final score.
Lily Day performed well in the pitching circle, allowing only 2 earned runs in four innings of work.
Kylie Ann Kluck drew a walk for Mount Mary (0-16, 0-4 CCAC) and also reached base after being hit by a pitch.
The two teams will now meet in a doubleheader at Calumet on Sunday, March 29th. The contests were originally scheduled for March 28th. The twin bill is scheduled for games at 12 and 2 pm.
