Prescott, Ariz. --- The Blue Angels of Mount Mary University travelled through the mountains of Arizona to take on Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in another double header. In game one, the Eagles were all gas and no brakes. They took game one convincingly, 26-0 in five innings. The Eagles continued on the gas and won game two in five innings, 21-5.
Game One:
Three Blue Angels picked up hits in the game. Tina Finley (Canyon Country, Calif.) singled to right field. Right after Finley reached base, Ava Flannery (Pipestone, MB, Canada) reached base off of an Eagle error. Finley found her way to second base as Ayja Cushman (Racine, Wis.) stepped up to the plate. She came up big as she hit a single and advanced Finley and Cushman.
Game Two:
The Blue Angels found their groove late in game two. In the top of the third inning, Finley singled to center field, which scored Kylie Ann Kluck (St. Francis, Wis.). The Blue Angels trailed the Eagles 11-1 after two. In the top of the fourth inning, Layla Rambousek ( ) got things started by scoring Cushman after hitting a double. Amanda Nance (Antioch, Ill.) came up clutch and hit another double, which scored Rambousek. Next up, Kluck stepped up to the plate and continued the double trend. She scored Alex Eads (Lincoln, Ill.) and Gabi Chagas (Brasilia, Brazil). The Blue Angels scored four runs in the fourth, bringing the score to 19-5. The Eagles secured their second win of the day, 21-5.
The Blue Angels will take the day off tomorrow, but will be back for one last double header on Friday, March 6th. They will play against Nelson University-Arizona at 1:00 p.m. CST and 3:00 p.m. CST.
