Bio
Mount Mary University Director of Athletics Natalie Balleto has announced that Maida Wolff will be elevated to the key position of Senior Woman Leader within the Blue Angel Athletic Department. Wolff will also continue to serve as the Head Coach of the Mount Mary Volleyball program.
"Maida has been a tremendous addition since coming to MMU last April," commented Balleto, "She did a phenomenal job this Fall with the Volleyball program and has found a lot of success already in recruiting for her program. She has given much to the MMU community outside of athletics as well by joining the Public Safety department and getting involved with our Staff Assembly. Maida has really taken to our mission/values and has served our students in a variety of ways. I am thrilled to be able to reward her efforts by way of a promotion to our Senior Women Leader / Head Volleyball Coach. With this promotion she will take on a leadership role within our Athletics Senior Leadership Team, with additional responsibilities as our Champions of Character Liaison as we transition into the NAIA. She has such a passion for our students and serving our community. I think she will be an excellent role model and excel in her new position. This promotion will give Maida an opportunity to serve all of our student-athletes in a more profound way, which will impact their experience at MMU positively."
As stated by Balleto, the role is a crucial leadership position as MMU transitions into the NAIA for the 2025-2026 academic year. Wolff will lead MMU's efforts within the NAIA champions of character program, organizing and supporting the department's efforts and achievement in academics, off court character development, and community service. The Senior Women Leader role also will provide the department with additional administrative support which will serve as a most positive benefit to the Mount Mary athletic department, coaches, teams and student athletes.
Wolff had these comments regarding her promotion and expanded role, "I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the many students and athletes, here at Mount Mary, in a variety of capacities. Thank you to all the directors and administrators who made it possible. Go Blue Angels!"
Wolff, the former Cardinal Stritch University Head Volleyball Coach (and 2019 Cardinal Stritch Graduate), completed her first season as MMU's head volleyball coach in November. With key players returning and early recruiting success, the future certainly looks bright for the Blue Angel Volleyball program under Wolff's leadership.
